more info needed - your on the forum here now on
a different computer .. problem logging into the site
or forum ?
Site. Didn't try forum.
I am on WC on my PC now. Not on the Surface.
IE11 on the surface, no addons. Windows Defender A/V.
I can get on the site, and the forums. I just can't login. It appears to take my info, but still shows me as not logged in.
Try different browser maybe?
Your a computer guy and your asking us.
My 8.1 can log onto the site with IE but not the forums.
Sometimes it happened to me too. Just that because we get too used to our browser to autofilled our password, we actually forget what it was set to.
The best to do is reset password. But that just me.
Well, I am quickly learning that the Surface RT is a different animal. I can't install Start 8, probably no windowblinds either. If I understand, nothing will install except MS apps from the app store. That sucks big ones.
What about Dreams can you run Deskscapes on it ?
I doubt it. It has 2 GB ram, and a NVidia tegra CPU. I doubt Deskscapes would even install. As I said, I read online that I can't install anything but MS apps, from the app store. POS unit, but I did only pay 25.00 for it.
With only 64 GB hdd, I wouldn't even fill it up with dreams.
That's why I avoided getting anything Windows RT... it's a walled garden like Apple's IOS, etc, and not user friendly. That's why I ended up getting my HP 2-in 1 with a full Windows OS... I can install what I like on it.
Frankly, I don't like having to deal with tablet/phone type apps, particularly when I'm on a PC/device running Windows. I much prefer Windows 32 programs that are installed within the system, and I think most hardcore Windows users do too.
As Jim said he only paid $25 for it. I use my iPad to surf the web when I'm sitting in my big chair watching TV. I wouldn't mind having a cheap surface to do that. I have a laptop but the batteries in this thing doesn't last as long as they say it does. Plus I can't connect to my desktop with the iPad for networking.
Buy a second one....and have matching bookends...
And you didn't smell the flowers before buying into that walled garden?
I dunno, Windows RT tablets and/or iPads, might use 'em as bookends, I suppose.
