Shame on me: I didn't know that half of these wonderful people are no longer with us. I'm so saddened by this.
HG Eliminator too? Huh?
I'm so sorry.
I love you all, without hesitation.
My family.
Another we may have lost is CountryYokel from Cornwall.... and i do say 'may'. We last spoke in 2012, and then he was quite unwell, though still battling on with a fighting spirit.
However, that was six years ago and I've not had contact or heard from him since. Hopefully he is still around, but I somehow fear he is not.
John Fisher aka Willistuder can be added to the list, sadly.
I didn't know John personally, but he has hired me to do work a few times.
He was a good guy, and I hope he rests in peace. go well, John.
i remember CountryYokel...
wasn't he the retired farmer...dairy I think.....who used to make windowblinds, but he was colour-blind so his grandaughter used to choose the colours for him?... he was a real character....

Yes he was... this is the last blind he made.

Yes, he's the retired dairy farmer who took to skinning WBs as a hobby.... and yes, he was/is colour blind, which make his skins all the more remarkable.
He and I last spoke around 2012, as I recall, with regard to my mother paying him a visit while she was on holiday in Devon and Cornwall. The visit didn't occur due to not being able to find the turn-off to his farm, from what I remember.
BTW, with regard to my mother, we put our differences aside and are now on good speaking terms Life is too short so I reached out to her and we had a great talk. So yeah, all is good there.[

That WB is a bit later than when he and I last spoke... a couple of years, in fact, so hopefully CountryYokel is still with us.... if not skinning then at least enjoying life as best he can.
Syd mentioned MySecret. Ellen just up and vanished one day without a word. It was so odd. I thought I found her on facebook some years ago and it turned out to be a dude using both the name Mysecret and her logo.......hmm
Quite a few sorta just up and vanished over the years: Shenaynay being one; Sleeping Dragon another. Boxxi is another I've not seen in a while.... or CPlair, for that matter, though Shaunna says she's spoken with him over at Facebook, a site I will not visit under any circumstances.
It'd be nice if some of those older members who seem to have disappeared would come back. These days the forums seem to be made up of 1% long term old timers and 99% lurkers who just sit around watching. That does not make for vibrant or very interesting forums at all.
CPlair is on Facebook. We talk often.
Yeah, Shaunna said that she's spoken with him over there in recent times.
Oh how good it would be if other members popped up there and they could be convinced to revisit these 'ere forums to help keep 'em alive. I mean, some threads don't even make it to 2 - 3 replies.
I miss seeing Sleeping Dragon around. And Tiggz. I was silent for years, even absent, but make occasional appearances, now.
Bryan's still around....though not here all that often...
Same here! He was one of the first to welcome me to WC and get chatting in the forums. And the fun threads, oh how he used to make me laugh with his wit and humour. Tigzz is another I miss, as with Night Train and Bichur. All were great contributors and community members. I'm sure there are many others who just dropped off as well. It would be nice if those people would drop in every now and again, if only to let us know they're okay.
That's good news. I do recall that he wasn't so well and required surgery. Hopefully that all went well and he's doing okay now.
