Just my thoughts....
System Sounds
Published on February 12, 2020 By RedneckDude In Stardock Support General

Hey guys of support, I have an issue.

I applied a sound package and now some of my system sounds have no sound.  Like the notification sound I used to get when I install a windowblind.

Is this normal?

Hello Sir,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know what sound package you are using and which notification sound not played. So that I can test it out.

Thanks

If your using custom sounds not default you can open the SP app and

click on edit and then click on Windows or File Explorer and scroll thru

till you find what your looking for and if there is no sound for that item

you can add your own custom sound effect to that item save and done.

So with any Sound Scheme you can add or delete to it's sounds

I get the editing part, but one would think that a sound package applied would allow the default sound to be used if none is supplied. Just like IconPackager doesn't change the icons not contained in the package.

If this is not the case, maybe it's a feature that should be added.

It'll be a pain in the ass to us SP if I have to edit each package.

SoundPackager will apply what the theme requests.

If the theme has been set to windows default for a given sound then that's what should be set when it is applied.  But if the author set it to blank then you will get no sound for that effect.  I imagine the author has set the sound to blank intentionally setting no sound for a given sound effect.

If you go into edit mode any set intentionally to blank should show with a red (assuming Win10) X in a circle in the list on the left.
